Kiger Mustang RegistryText Box: Web design by: Wild Horse Run Production

The Kiger possesses many attributes and displays a personality that has been described as everything from a person with four legs to a puppy dog,  and all for good reason. They are unique in so many ways that it is sometimes hard to remember that they are actually a horse.

They are a thinking breed that will both amaze and impress you with their problem solving abilities and their power of reasoning . Although they can appear to look like many other types of horses, the Kiger is in a class all it’s own. With such a heightened ability to problem solve, they can often deal with new and unique situations  if given the opportunity to work it out on their own. They possess a desire to please and love to invent and play games.  Their child like enthusiasm  adds to their wonderful personalities.

The Kiger possesses the dun factor with a

bi-colored mane and tail, ear barring and leg barring. It can also have facial markings such as a mask or cob webbing. Minimal white such as a star, snip or a thin strip of white on the coronet bands can be readily found in this breed but can also manifest itself in greater degrees. The most common colors in the Kiger breed are Buckskin Dun and Grullo, but Red Dun, Lobo Dun, Bay, Clay Bank, Grey and Dunalino can also be found.

The Kiger averages between 14.1hh to 14.3hh, but exceptions to this rule can result in up to 15+hh. They are a versatile breed that have proven themselves in everything from dressage to reining and working cow horses. They also flourish as a ranch horse as their stamina and sure footedness serve them well.
